Behavioral Health, Interoperability and eConsent: Meeting the Demands of CMS Final Rule Compliance

In a webinar scheduled for April 16 at 1pm ET, Aneesh Chopra, who served as the first Chief Technology Officer during the Obama administration and serves as president of CareJourney, will moderate a discussion on how providers are working with health information exchanges and health tech vendors to comply with the CMS Interoperability and Prior Authorization Final Rule.

DocuSign, the leader in electronic signature and contract lifecycle management solutions, and Velatura, one of the nation’s premier multi-jurisdictional health information exchanges (HIE) and health data utilities (HDU) recently announced a groundbreaking pilot project that will streamline the patient consent form capture process for protected health information (PHI).

Federal and state laws require healthcare providers to receive a signature consent from a patient in order to share sensitive data, including mental health records or information on treatment or referrals related to alcohol and substance use disorder. The partnership between DocuSign and Velatura aims to streamline processes for consent collection and management, while improving care coordination for patients and providers alike. Removing this administrative burden leaves more time for clinical consultation and decision making.

In addition to Chopra, panelists for the webinar include

  • MJ Jackson, Global Head of Industries, DocuSign
  • Angie Bass, Chief Strategy Officer, Velatura
  • Natalie Spivak, Chief Information Officer, Southwest Michigan Behavioral Health
  • Joseph Wager, Technology Project Manager, Mid-State Health Network
